Recycling Bin Design/Painting Contest

Rotary Interact Clubs in District 7255 are invited to participate in the Fourth Annual Recycling
Bin Design/Painting Contest. This creative project encourages clubs to design and paint
recycling bins to celebrate America Recycles Day, Earth Day, and Rotary’s focus on supporting
the environment. Each club can submit up to two decorated bins, showcasing their
commitment to sustainability. Winners receive cash prizes, plaques, and certificates, with
awards presented at the Evan R. Liblit Memorial Scholarship Fund Breakfast. This contest not
only promotes environmental awareness but also honors the legacy of Evan R. Liblit, a pioneer
in recycling and waste management.

The contest is open to all Interactors in District 7255, with each club invited to enter up to two
recycling bins or containers. Clubs are responsible for obtaining their own bins. These can be
repurposed garbage cans or recycling containers from home, school, or local businesses.
Starting April 12, 2025, clubs can begin designing and painting their bins to creatively highlight
the importance of recycling and environmental care. To officially enter, clubs must submit their
club name and advisor’s contact info by September 30, 2025, and send photos of their finished
artwork by November 3, 2025.

Judging will be conducted by representatives from the Evan R. Liblit Memorial Scholarship Fund
Committee and Rotary District 7255, with winners announced by November 7, 2025. Prizes
include cash awards of $500, $300, and $200 for first, second, and third places respectively,
along with plaques and certificates of participation for all clubs. Winners will also showcase
their decorated bins at the Annual Evan R. Liblit Memorial Scholarship Fund Breakfast, a special
event celebrating America Recycles Day and honoring Evan Liblit’s legacy in advancing recycling
and waste management education.

ShelterBox – Emergency Shelter for Families in Crisis

What is ShelterBox?
ShelterBox is a humanitarian organization that provides emergency shelter and lifesaving
supplies to families who have lost their homes due to natural disasters like hurricanes,
earthquakes, floods, or conflicts such as war zones.

How does it work?
When a disaster strikes, ShelterBox teams quickly deliver specially designed disaster relief
boxes. Each box contains a family-sized tent, tools, water purification equipment, blankets,
cooking sets, and other essentials to help displaced families survive and start rebuilding their
lives.

Why is it important?
Shelter is one of the most urgent needs after a disaster. Without shelter, families face exposure
to harsh weather, health risks, and insecurity. By supporting ShelterBox, Interactors can directly
help families regain safety and hope during their darkest times.
